Causes of Low Vision
Most people develop low vision as a result of an eye disease or health condition, such as macular degeneration, diabetes or glaucoma with macular degeneration as the leading cause of low vision in the Western world. Other causes of visual impairment include: corneal disease, retinitis pigmentosa, amblyopia, cataracts, and myopia. Eye injuries are also a common cause of visual impairment.
